Doggie Heaven

Took awhile but we finally purchased a canoe to play on the lake with- it's a 20 year old aluminum "Smoker Craft". Took it out for a spin last night, saw a beaver swim past, within minutes leaving us with a typical splash of delight. Deyaah enjoyed the cruise as well though I'm sure she thought about tipping us over a time or two. There was an otter toying with us for ten minutes as well. As the fading sun's rays cascaded off the surrounding 5 thousand foot mountain peaks an eagle soared above coasting on the ever present winds. In the north the Great Almighty leaves us with little to imagine for each day presents a unique mosaic of beauty and wildlife to leave one in awe of all that we are so lucky to be a part of. That's not to say we're not having some major 'winter withdrawl' around here for nothing compares to standing on the back of the sled's runners with 16 crazed beasts leading you off into the unknown wilds. Just this last weekend we placed our kennel's name once again on the starting roster for the International 1,000 mile Yukon Quest race. We're hoping to do the Iditarod as well but are unsure if we will be able to afford to compete in both events. Presently we are in negotiations to purchase the property we've been renting this past year. If all goes will we will be living here, in our own personal 'doggie heaven' for many moons to come. I only pray that the wiser, more adventurous souls out there will accept our invitation to come on up for a visit some day soon. You can only imagine the wonders awaiting your eyes.... Enjoy the View, HHN
